If I recall, I used to fold the braid back over the black outer
covering and screw on the PL-259. Worked quite well in most
applications. As far as impedance continuity, I would be more
concerned about the PL-259, it's not even close to a 50 ohm
connector, BUT, at HF frequencies, the bump in the line will
never get noticed, if indeed there is a bump. Something
about the 1/10 wavelength rule ??
