I use nylon rope, black, and install by fraying the outer end, folding the frays back a 1/4 inch over the outside of the outer end of the element tube, and securing by pushing the plastic end cap over the frays and the element end. Just following HyGain directions on this operation. Nylon should not soak up too much and should dry fast?
