Saturday night was a washout on 160 for this station in middle TN. Gusty
thunderstorms with high wind driven rains and heavy lightning. In addition to
the storm noise, I have developed a bad power line transformer somewhere close
by that only arcs when it rains heavy during storms. 160 and 80 were totally
knocked out, 40 was somewhat workable with only the stronger DX signals.
Friday night was a bit better, as the storms were not directly overhead, but
lightning static made copy difficult. Never was able to hear any EU over the
static crashes, but many Caribbean stations signals popped in over the static
crashes. I was able to work PJ2T, KP2M, VP5K, TO4A, ZF5T and VP9I. Some with
ease, some not so easy. Just happy to be able to get 6 DX entities into the log
on 160! Still with the 6BTV with 132' parallel 160 inverted L wire at 6BTV feed.
