I used to use a slightly shortened 'L' with a small inductor at the base until I was told by LA5HE that he could hear me on 80 as well as 160! Using capacitor matching forms a low pass network which will reduce harmonic radiation. The inductor method forms a high pass L-network. BTW, why is it called a 'hairpin' inductor?
