I let my NCJ subscription lapse, but I see on the latest cover (March/April 2015) that there seems to be an update on the K9AY loop. Either that, or Gary has come up with an entirely new and improved RX antenna design. A photo of it using multiple wires on a frame, with the statement "Eighteen years later, K9AY rethinks the receiving loop antenna": http://ncjweb.com/cover-image/Cover-MarApr-2015.jpg It's hard to tell from the photo, but it looks like a multi-turn loop! Is this for real, or is this another one of the ARRL's April Fool articles? Can anyone who has that issue shed some light on this? 73, Mike www.w0btu.com _________________ Topband Reflector Archives - http://www.contesting.com/_topband |
