A very popular method out here in CA is to

1) cut a piece of 3/8-in rebar to a length of 4-5 ft, stick about 18-in of it in the ground

2) drill a 1/4-in hole in one end of a piece of 3/4-in PVC conduit (or PVC plumbing pipe) to a length that you want to hold the Beverage off the ground

3) place the pipe over the rebar

4) use a cable tie through the hole in the pipe to secure the Beverage wire

Retire to the shack and have a beverage.
