It depends a lot on the quality and thickness of the galvanization. I had
two ham friends help me
dig up one of the back stays from the 1920's Radio Corporation of America
radio relay station antenna here in Belfast.
(1920 patent date) The back stay is now at the Belfast museum, in great
shape - no rust.
I'm looking at 2-in x 2-in galvanized welded wire mesh as a ground
screen alternative. The question is, does anyone have experience with
how
well something like this would hold up?
