Broadband systems do not need to be that bad. It isn't actually a "curse".
In your system it probably comes from the antenna amplifiers. Unless you
have something local, a better amplifier might be a cure.
His system has no element amps.
You have a product ending on a "5" because shortwave channels are involved.
His systems, according to him anyway, involved an AM BCB station. It is
impossible to generate a 5 internally in the antenna system unless shortwave
is involved, or something on a channel ending in 5 kHz.
It will be interesting to see if Wayne comments further, but if it is
exclusively AM BCB it has to be a receiver image or a spurious in the AM
transmitter.
