Why solder?
Jus' clean and twist wire ends together and screw on wire nuts (orange ones so 
deer can see 'em)
Have them pointing up or wrap with electrical tape.
You end up with joint that can be opened if needed (deer season).

Jus' mi 2 rubbles.
