I understand your sincere concerns.
However, and this is a message to all hams: whenever there's a major
dx-pedition going on, there's no guarantee you will succeed making a
qso. Many hams seem to think this is a no-doubt demand, they believe to
own the dx and thus the frequency. By golly, this is a hobby! I have no
bad feeling at all if I do not get to work FW5RE. Better luck next time,
I hope I learned something in the process and it will be a challenge to
further enhance my operator practise and station/antennas for the future.
How boring can it be if you do work each and every new dx which appears
on the bands? What is your challenge? Where's the fun?
I know that many, many years ago you had to find the dx yourself by
turning that vfo dial. Not by clicking on your cluster-screen. We would
listen and learn from elmers who provided feedback on local 145MHz.
Sure, time has changed and your mileage may vary. But let me ask this
again; where is the fun?
