Each of the 160 meter contests has its own character. The ARRL
160 is more of a W/VE QSO party because of the limitation of the
DX participants to work each other.
The Stew Perry uses grid squares and distance to determine the score.
Due to the time of the year around Christmas and New Year's, it somewhat
limits the number of participants.
This year, I suspect, the weather was a far more limiting factor as the number
of logs submitted over the last several years have continued to increase.
The CQ160 is an all out assault on making contacts since everyone works
everyone else.
As someone who has won all of these in the LP category a number of times,
I like them just the way they are!
While some aspects of each might be different, after all, not everyone will
be satisfied no matter what is done.
