VE3XZ observed that ON4UN says taking velocity factor into account,
quarter wave resonant radials can be half the assumed physical length.

On page 9-11, Devoldere says, (summarizing), that for a wire on the ground,
the length for quarter wave resonance is approximately .14 lambda, but
varying with earth characteristics.

I think it's a leap from there, to assume that 2x the radials, half the
length, will result in significant improvement. After all, most of the
historical data was taken with radials .25 lambda physically, and on or in
ground.

On the other hand, it should be an interesting experiment.

How will you know it's successful, Eddie? Annecdotal observations
won't prove anything. Do you have someone at a reasonable distance,
who can observe the signal?
