Following Tim, K3LR's suggestion, mow your grass quite low. (I'd wait
for the fall when mowing season is almost over) Lay the radials down
and pin them to the ground. Keep your mower set at a higher level for
future mowings until the radials get below the thatch.
If you have to bury, a plow similar to a sod buster or sub-soiler
will work nicely. You could also use an edger. The sod buster is a
single steel tool used to aerate compacted soil. ON4UN's latest Low
Band bible book has a section on how to bury citing two references on page 9-18
