While I have no room for Beverages here, it has been interesting to study them 
and read the posts.  One thing that keeps coming up is that the proper Beverage 
termination value changes, depending on the amount of moisture in the soil, and 
other variable factors.

Since the purpose of the termination resistor is to swamp to ground any waves 
travelling toward it, I would think that a biased diode would do a better job 
of being more suited to all conditions and frequencies.  This would not work if 
the terminating resistor is required to allow some current flow in both 
directions.  A diode placed at the horizontal to vertical wire junction should 
also prevent vertical wire sig pickup from entering the horizontal wire.

Has anyone tried or considered such a termination?
