Yes, I have on 80 meters. The sloper was mediocre to good. When I shunt
fed the tower on 80m it was #1 in pileups most of the time - a super
antenna!
Modeling shows that a 1/4-wave sloper really is a vertical because most
of the radiation is from the tower supporting the sloper.
