At the start of the contest conditions seemed normal. Worked three
Europeans and an A61. Then everyone lost signal strength on all
antennas. After about an hour even the Big Guns in the Norh East went
down close to the noise. It seemed like a good time to take a break so
went to look at the TV maybe catch the News. Channel 2 that is usually
snow free was very snow covered. On 160 meters an hour later there was
a slow recovery and had a great peak about midnight local time. Some
Europeans were coming skewed from the direction of Africa.
Later noted Caribbean stations were mostly workable via high angle.
Worked one with the low angle antenna heading to Europe.(Stronger on
some kind of back scatter)
There are times when being closer to Europe in the Northern Latitudes is
not an asset in a contest.
Hope we all get better condx tonight.
