I live perhaps 3 miles airline from an am broadcast station operating on
1610 Khz. I use a full wave delta loop fed at the apex(approx 90ft) with
rg213 coax. The loop tilts to the west and the two west supports are at
approximately 30 feet. When I use the loop directly to my kenwood
TS570S transceiver thru the built in antenna tuner I have what I judge good
results. Recently I purchased an Ameritron AL 1500 amp and a Nye Viking
tuner. When I tune up these two new units I get S9+ reception
of the AM station at 1890 Khz(I like to operate in a net at 1892.5).
The result is catastrophic for comfortable operation. I also get the AM to
a lesser extent on 75 meters but thankfully not in the DX window. In both
cases I can eliminate the BCI by going direct to the loop with the
transceiver and using the internal tuner. Any suggestions on how the
proceed with the Hi Power/Nye Tuner and eliminate the BCI. I have
already considered asking the AM station to relocate to another county
but supect a less than favorable response to that if pursued. Is there
a workable filter system that would attenuate the BCI? What think Ye?
