Top banders,
VQ9QM began calling CQ about 23:50Z last night and was 459. He then built
to 579 in the half hour he was audible here in eastern G land.
No QSO's heard, but many EU big guns tried.
Also worked VK6HD last night with deep QSB on his signal. Ranged from 449
to 579 for the twenty minutes he was audible here.
No USA last night or at sunrise here in East Anglia.
The balloon was used in the hours of darkness, with 100 watts feeding the 65
metres of wire. Not much wind so it was really a vertical last night. I
hope the CQWW SSB will have calm nights as well.
