I was told by some of the Southeast Asia Oldtimers that a horizontal on a
hill was a real DX grabbing antenn. So at 9V1SH I had a 80/40 meter dipole
on my three story house which was on one of the highest hills in the
Republic.
I was able to consistently work into Europe and the US with 100 watts to an
FT101. In ON4UN's older books my card is shown in his 80 meter collection.
If you live on a high hill I would certainly recommend trying dipoles.
