I recently acquired a MFJ-1025 noise canceller (not the MFJ-1026) and its
operation differs in one area from what is stated in the manual.
According to the manual on page 4: "The main antenna input has less
internal noise, but also has less available gain than the auxiliary antenna
input". I observe just the opposite--the auxiliary input has much less
gain than the main antenna input. I can still adjust the gain controls so
that I can obtain noise cancellation on local line noise but I'm wondering
whether my unit is functioning up to spec. Is the manual wrong or does my
unit have a problem?
I sent two e-mail inquiries to MFJ on the subject but haven't received any
reply. Before trying to call MFJ directly, I'd like to hear from any
MFJ-1025 owners about their experience. Please reply to me directly.
