Finally I have my act together on 160m again.. This time for more serious
operations.
The Inv-L has been completely re-built with 10mm square cable.
I bought myself a Kenwood TS-850S a month ago and have installed 2 INRAD filters
in it. 250 Hz in the 8.3 Mc MF and a 500 Hz in the 455kC MF.
Then as an addition I also have a 500 Hz filter in the 8.3Mc MF.
I was very surprised and happy to see that VK6HD became the first station in my
log with this new setup.. We had been trying for about 3 weeks almost every
night to get a QSO in 97 with no success... I never could pull his call out
then..
First night I only worked 3 stations VK6HD, A45XR and EA6SX. I also heard some
others calling me but no success yet.
I will be back from mission on wednesday evening and will continue on 160M then.
If I am not listening around I will call CQ mainly on 1827.5. I will be on in
the evening but also sligthly before and during my sunrise.
