Hi all
It was interesting to note Jeff's comments on propagation from A61
Quote >>>>>>>
Pse note that last night, the 0000z opening for 30 mins was LOUDER than
sunrise - then it closed for about 45 mins around 0100z - - and then
reopened again about 0210z until 0239z when it closed at dawn.
>>>>>>>>
Basically, the band opens (under normal condx) to NA about 2335z. Then
there is a rapid build-up of signal strength moving toward 0000z - and a
really intense peak occurs from about 0010-0030z.
>>>>>>>>>
The band thereafter sounds "MUSHY" (fully absorbed) and you can tell guys
are there calling - but you cannot really hear them at all - just a presence
of callers.
Around 0205z, it starts to open again towards sunrise - but nowhere as good
as it was earlier at 00z.

The above is a precis from two of Jeff's postings.
It bears out what I used to experience from 4S7. (couldn't find it on the
archives !)
The band was much quieter during the first opening around 2-3 hours before
sunrise when the noise comes up significantly.
S21XX reported similar propagation when I corresponded with him also.
Question is
- what is happening to give the good propagation some 2-3 hours before
sunrise ?? or should we be thinking xx hours after sunset ??
