Tree, N6TR will score your Stew Perry logs assuming that you are in a
6-character grid square ending in "LL". Knowing that, all that are
using my program (DBGRID) to manually score their logs, here's the
easiest way to do it:

1) Run DBGRID and select menu option 6 (find lat/long of a grid square).

2) Type in your QTH's 4-character grid square and tack "LL" onto the end
of it (even though you may not be in that subsquare).

3) Press <Enter> to find the lat/long of your grid square (plus "LL").

4) Select menu option 8 to change your QTH.

5) Enter a lat and long that places you within the bounds of what you
found in 3) above.

That done, you're ready to score your log. To do this:

6) Select menu option 1 (find distance from your grid square to another).

7) When the program asks if you want to use your 4-character or a
6-character grid square, press "6".

8) Type in the other station's 4-character grid square and tack "LL" onto
the end of it.

The program then displays the distance in km and miles. QSO points are
figured as follows:

  0 - 499.499 km = 1 point
  499.500 - 999.499 km = 2 points
  999.500 - 1499.499 km = 3 points
  1499.500 - 1999.499 km = 4 points

and so on, for each 500 km. That may look strange, but because Tree
rounds off the distances, it will agree with the way he scores your log.

After you're done, select menu option 8 to place yourself back into your
correct 6-character grid square.
