I have an inverted L that begins with the vertical section at the side
of my home on a 130' wide and
80 ft deep backyard. The inverted L (43 ft high) goes over the home and
130 ft to the side of the yard.
The elevated radial goes to the back of the yard, which is 90 degrees
from the L about 80 ft
and then loops back towards the house again. Would it be better to turn
the radial in the direction
of the antenna?

Can an additional elevated radial be run in the same plane (direction)
as the antenna wire?
Does adding additional ground rods at antenna base help? There is one
now. I will not
be burying any radials.

The antenna is coax fed now and is about 175 ft long. It is fed into a
tuner in the shack with a
coax run of only 10 ft. Would it be better to place a variable
capacitor at the base and then
into the coax.

Thanks and 73
