Hello topbanders and 9M0C,

This is an alternate EWE design, used at WW2Y contest station: 20 feet
vertical at each end, 60 feet apart, 800 ohm termination, 9 to one
transformer on feedpoint. If you have any way of determining the main
direction that the QRN comes from, like with beams on higher bands, point
the termination end there. The broad, cardioid pattern will pick up most
other directions. We were suprised that the output was so high, as the EWE
is not a high-efficiency antenna, and it had quite a good null off the
back.

An in-phase array of these spaced 200-300 feet broadside would add
front-to-side ratio which would help if the storms are in many directions.

73 and Good Luck to ALL, Rob K2WI
