Ah, 160M how do I love thee....
For the want of 1/2 hr of Preventative Maintenance at the beginning of
the season, I'm off the air. The ole Inverted L parted at the peak. I am
having serious withdrawal symptoms and find myself daydreaming at all hours
picturing the upcoming fishing rod/wrist rocket/ bow and arrow session this
weekend to get it back in the air.
For the record, the "12 AWG Type MTW or THHN or THWN or Gasoline and Oil
Resistant II or AWM 600Volt AIW-Corp (UL) VW-1" flee market special lasted
8 days short of 3 years in the elements. It looks like it broke at the
right angle of the L.
So I've got a yard full of 1800' of radials, a wacky looking Mag loop (at
least the
birds like it as a resting place) and no transmitting antenna. Wish me
luck!
