Scotty et al... As an example of the difference between mylar and ordinary
balloons:

One of my favorite tricks with ordinary, small, mylar balloons is to make a
sort of blimp with one. That is: you can apply weights (pennies, paper
clips/etc.) until the balloon is literally suspended ghost-like several
feet off the ground. It DOES slowly alter its height, but VERY slowly.
'Ordinary' rubber balloons cannot be done. They will never reach such an
equilibrium, their helium leakage (THROUGH the rubber) is so high.
