Last week, I was mentioning the signal coming from VE7UZ which had
some problems. I sent Vic a letter and just received a nice phone
call from him. He was able to hear the problem with a second
receiver.
The radio is an Icom 765 and he thinks he may have found some diodes
that aren't being switched off as they should in transmit.
At any rate - I don't expect to have problems from his signal in the
future. It was really nice to have this kind of response from
him - another indication on why this is the gentleman's band.
Now, if we could just get it to open up again!!! There hasn't been
a peep out of Europe since the great openings on the weekend of Dec
7, 8 and 9.
