Rick et al; I am looking at my "old" 563 manual and I find in section 4-14 TX Audio Board (81597) on page 4-37 where is described the circuit and functions, Board component layout, and Board Schematic Diagram. Is this what we are looking for? If I can be of assistance, I would be delighted to do so. Wishing all a Blessed Christmas. Regards, Bob K4BG and Joy K4VHC. (QRZ info including home page current)

Found the manual. It was at the very bottom of the stack.
It say "Preliminary Manual, OMNI VI 563"
And is dated "April, 1992".
It spells out the word "April" rather than printing 4/92.
Unfortunately is does not have any schematics inside; it is simply
instructions of how to operate the manual. It really was the original
manual.

My PDF copy of the manual in my electronic archive says "4th Printing 2/94".

Somewhere there must be a manual that was written between 4/92 and 2/94.
That schematic (81597) can only be in that manual.

I honestly can't recall when I bought my first 563.
I bought my 562 (OM-5) early in 1990.

Our only hope is that someone with a very early version checks his/her
manual and discovers the earlier IF/AF board in it.

I recall having a preliminary manual to one of the radios, but can't recall
which one.
I will dig through my box of old manuals and see if I still have it.
Keep your fingers crossed.

That manual PDF is dated 2/94 and denoted as 4th printing. I've seen Omni
VI units with serial numbers as early as 4/92. So somewhere out there are
earlier versions of the manual.

Barry,

About 8 or 9 years ago, Scott gathered up all of the old manuals he
could find at the plant and sent them to James, K8JHR. James had a very
expensive, fast scanner. He scanned in all of the manuals and made PDFs,
then sent them back to Ten-Tec. Those are what's now posted online at
Ten-Tec.

So somehow your manual must have found its way back to Sevierville.
Did you perhaps trade your 563 in on a 564?

I have a copy of all of those, plus over the years I have managed to add a
dozen more manuals to my collection. I searched through every manual
that
I have, but could not find that specific IF/AF board.

That also has the 81602 PCB. But it's funny, those are definitely MY
hand written notes on the 81602 schematic in that PDF. How did THAT
ever find its way back to the Web site? ;-)
