Actually it had nothing directly to do with cost.
The reason those bands are not in the radio is, there was no space to place
the bandpass filters.
Of course they could have found a larger box, which would have cost more, so
maybe that's the reason John said "cost".
According to Jack in a private conversation we had, in order to make space
for another band, he would have had to reduce the size of the cores of the
BPF inductors, which would slightly reduce their performance, so he opted to
leave 12m out. We never spoke about 60m.
According to Mike in a private telephone conversation with me, the new
Argo6's will have 12m. I don't think he commented on 60m. And he did not
say how they are doing it but if he says 12m is in, then I have no reason to
doubt him.
