I'm also interested in adding a spectrum display, but I'll be using a
LP-Pan and a 192 kHz external sound card.

I've read where others have used SDR receivers that allow monitoring
several bands at once, and displaying activity using CW Slimmer and other
software.

One thing I have NOT seen mentioned, and I suspect it may be very
important, is the horsepower behind the software.  I have a few modest Dell
 Optiplex 755 Dual Core machines in the shack.  I'm not sure these up are
to the task of running NaP3, CW Skimmer and other associated programs (HRD,
etc.) at the same time. Rick says he has a laptop.  Unless it is the latest
and greatest powerhouse, perhaps those limitations also need to be
discussed.  I'd certainly appreciate a reality check regarding the
computing hardware needed to to this stuff.
