You do have it connected for QSK thus using the two control cables between the amp and the Omni VII. Or are you just using the EXT KEY connection between the Omni VII and the amp?

Is this a click coming out of the speaker/headphones or from the radio or from the amp?

Yes I think I can wire that cable up to my present EASY-DIGI with no trouble.

Now if I could JUST get my OMNI VII to stop clicking when I transmit with the 422 linear amplifier running 500 watts CW. That is still a big mystery to me...

Hi Bry -- do you have the TT 4-output, 7-pin DIN plug "octopus" cable that provides easy connection to the pins of the rear panel accessory jack? If not, a $10 bill and some postage will get you one. That makes connecting a Line In, Line Out, PTT and other connections easy. Check the user manual for the pin out assignments, but the cable that comes from TT will have colors and be easy to mark after you find the chart in the user guide. I cheated and put tape labels on them so I don't get all corn-fused when not looking in the manual.

This should point the way.

TT makes a buffer or isolation cable, but you should not need that to connect to a well behaved sound card - match an RCA phono plug on one (rig) end and a 3.5 mm TR or TRS jack on the other (sound card) end.

I think this is what you are asking.

I have a new (to me) OMNI 7 here and I wonder how to go about Sound Card interfacing?

Does anyone have experience with this and can shine a little light for me? The two interfaces I have are designed only for use with a Yaesu FT857D and a Tentec OMNI VI although I have never used that one with the OMNI VI due to frequency stability issues, and not wanting
to wait for warm-up...
The plugs on the OMNI VI interface are molded and unfortunately it has too many phono plugs to go to this OMNI VII. Does anyone know a way to adapt to the OM7 ?
