TN has an intelligent tax system. Pretty well NO PERSONAL INCOME TAX!  High 9%, 
I believe, sales tax.  The way Federal Tax should be - a consumption tax.
KY has a zillion taxes.  Motto seems to be '"If it moves, tax it; if it doesn't 
move, kick it, then tax it because it moved."
I won't comment on what I've heard re CA taxes, because I'm a nice guy.:-)
