Another vote just in
I have a 563 rev 3 which I was told was same as a 564
It isn't. I have manuals for both and in some instances my radio doesn't
agree with either one!
Now that folks is FUN.
I don't think there is a nickles worth of performance difference, just makes
it interesting to troubleshoot and repair if and when needed. Fortunately
seldom, but there have been instances

Sorry sir but an Omni VI+ and an Omni VI Rev 3 are the same thing. I have
one of each and there are no differences between them internally. Some of
the later Omni VI+ had surface mount components as opposed to older style
leaded components but I'm sure the circuit design is the same but with
more modern manufacturing techniques and a reduction in the cost of
components.
