Nice simple circuit Lee.
It certainly works for SSB and CW with a QSK amp, but I would think the slow
relays in the old 30L1 and in the AL811 would not be able to follow CW
keying.
Are you using this in CW too?
It is just as simple to add a second transistor stage and add a "hang delay"
control - i.e., key the +12 to the relay instead of the ground, and then
shunt a variable resistor and capacitor across the +12v side of the relay's
coil. This gives you adjustable delay, just as it is done within the model
318 amp keyer AND long ago in the Model 405 amplifier.
