Ralph,

I had the same problem with two 961's.

Spares as readily supplied by Ten-Tec about two years ago:

Carling Switch, 4A 250vac, 8A 125vac. Other info on the part, 610, 620,
30514 2 Mexico 1.

Be cautious soldering new switches in place. Do not overheat.

73,
Dave

Ralph,
If the switch was not special order; it may have the name or logo of the
manufacturer on its body. It surely will have a rating label, ie "3A
125V/1.5A 240V" or similar. Given the rating, any switch that fits that
rating and the cut out would work, as long as you can get it with the
terminals to make the least labor in changing out the old switch. If it
is a plastic rocker switch, they typically fail more often. But, they
are widely available from electrical wholesale houses or parts houses.

See if you can match it up to a switch in the Mouser catalog, or other
big distributors. Your solution may be only a phone call order away
from your QTH, and overnight, or for lowest shipping cost, have them put
it in a mailing envelope. Of course, Ten Tec may stock the switch as well.

GL,
