Barry -
Excellent proposal! I would thoroughly enjoy participating in an on-the-air
speech processing roundtable. In fact, maybe some of the participants that are
equipped to record and play-back off-the-air audio could play it back for the
transmitting stations...
My test bed was my Omni VII, transmitting into a dummy load and and an Agilent
connected to the audio output of my "other" HF rig (Kenwood TS-2000). There
was, as there often is in such cases, enough RF radiated for the TS-2000 to
receive it easily.
I'll try to get some scope traces tonight or tomorrow night.

Mike, what was the DSP SP you compared the 715 with?
I sure would appreciate more measurements and waveform comparisons
with multiple rigs. This has certainly piqued my interest. Maybe a
roundtable on 20M with a bunch of listening tests/recordings of 715
on/off versus other radios and their compression would be interesting.

My Agilent scope has a very effective "mean" function, and the
difference between the DSP SP and the 715 is 6 db with my conservative
settings.
