It helps if you can see the target set screw. Yes, hold a flashlight so that
you can see the setscrew through the hole in the knob. Keep holding the
flashlight and watching the setscrew while putting the allen wrench into the
slot. Works for me.

Jerry,
It always helped me to say bad things. Actually, I just checked the allen
wrenches I used for that (don't have a Corsair II any more) and they are
all 5/64 and smaller. And, the right one can be a rascal (you may
substitute one of the bad words here) to get into the set screw. Just keep
trying with the tiny wrenches. You're on the right track

Subject: [TenTec] How do you remove the Corsair II Tuning Knob?
Folks,
I am trying to remove the main tuning knob from the Corsair II.
Someone told me the set screw took a 1/16 inch hex wrench (AKA allen).
However, I have been unable to get the 1/16 inch Allen wrench to fit into
the set screw. Were there any other set screws used? Is there a trick to
getting the knob off (you know, stand on your head with your tongue
hanging
out the left side of your mouth while whistling Dixie)? Dunno, I am about
to say bad things..
