Barry,

Your problem must be back also! It reminds me of the days when I had an
Apple II+ and every so often I would have to open the case press down on all
of the chips to be sure they were socketed well. I notice the remote knob
always works. This would suggest that a ribbon cable between boards is a
more reliable solution.

Is silver conductive grease ($$$) the only long term fix?  Is there
