My top straight key speed was once 29 wpm. I've not tested for that
again, but I sent an hour at a time at 22 wpm giving my dad code
practice and I keep up with FD contacts with a straight key at 25 wpm or
better. My skills with a keyer make me ashamed to put one on the air. I
can't sent slow and I can only copy 35 in my head, 40 runs to a blur in
my ears. Always has.
Code readers usually won't copy hand sent code either.
