The value of the mike is such that I wouldn't waste my time kvetching at the
dealer for very long. I'm not going to miss out on things because someone
answering the phone can't tell a 1/4" phono plug from a 4 pin connector.
And frankly, if I do anything, I'll just make a converter cable or even a
small converter box... and add in a foot switch. I just need to get a 4 pin
connector, which is one thing I don't have in the junque box at present, as
I mentioned to Steve.

If I was going to drag it to Dayton, I would have the dealer
eat it. I cannot imagine he wants you to stand there and
bitch about it all afternoon on Friday, with the prospect
you return and talk about it on Saturday... not good
for business.
On the other hand, as Steve suggested, the easier course
is to solder a new connector on it (mindful that we are not
all in the same position in doing these things... I have been
working with a local ham and doing his soldering on a small
repair project because he has Parkinson's or something and
shakes all over the place.... you oughta see him do CW !
Most hams are pretty good about it once he sends the word
"Parkinson's" as he gets a stutter in his fist... )
Send it to me and I will reconnect it for ya. No charge.
OR... work that trade in Dayton !
I see another one is for sale on eBay... with no connector at all.
Just MY take....
