Don't see you in the log, Ron. I got called away, so very low hours. Hung out
on 20M too long, but I only need Delaware on 20 for 5BWAS, so hoped to get a
short skip there. No such luck. When I got back, I jumped on 160 to see if I
could find any 7's there. Worked only east of the Mississippi.
Oh, well, it was fun anyway. Not sure why the Nittany ARC wouldn't get you the
new rig. Clean sweep is awesome. Long time since I was on main campus. Class of
'65.

Hope you are doing or did well in Pa QSO Dave; I'd have to check the log,
but I'm pretty sure I worked you.
I'm pumped up right now. Worked WX3A in Wayne an hour ago for #67. First
sweep in 35 years of operating this contest in one fashion or another. (I
think the Nittany ARC should buy me an Omni VII to commemorate the event. I
know; fat chance)

I'll be there, too, Ron; from Dauphin county with an Omni VI+ (it is a model
564, so it's OK to call it a plus) and a Hercules II. I hope I'm not out of
line to call it a High-Power entry (after all, it is only at about 500 watts
and that is not an exact measurement)

see you on the air

Well Jim, it was pretty obvious that the name "Closet Kilowatt" was a
marketing term for the entire station, and obviously referred to it's
approximate power consumption in the neighborhood of about a kW.
I'm with Warren. I can't believe you made such a fuss about what was
clearly not meant to be an exact technical measurement.
I could be more specific, but I see no point in raking the obvious over the
coals.
73, and hope to work you this weekend in the Pa QSO Party from my trusty
Corsair II station...
[which, strictly speaking, and in the interests of full disclosure, has a
Corsair (I) PS & VFO, so it's not a "true" Corsair II cosmetically. Just so
you know, so you don't berate me over an inaccurate description later]

Huh? The difference between 1kW and 500W is 3 dB. I know folks who
will go to war for only 1dB! Of course, they are folks who USE
their radios, not worship them.
