Jack,
I have my keyer on and use the AUX cable black connector which is the PTT
for keying when ever I am using a CW contest program. I have an RCA
connector on my straight key and use the same cable for SKN. I have the menu
set for PTT to key the transmitter on CW.

John

i run the Orion which REQUIRES a STEREO jack for both front and back CW
keying. the center ring is NOT connected for keyer or bug or straight
key. i have the internal keyer turned off. a Vibroplex bug runs in the
front jack, 1/4 inch. MixW keys my Orions (either of 2 of them) in the
back jack which is 1/8th inch size. both can be used all the time. i
have never had a problem keying my radios from either source.
