Subject: [TenTec] TT-253 Sought
A friend and I are helping an octogenarian YL get back on the air. She runs
an Omni VI and Hercules II and we will be adding a ladder-line fed dipole to
her station shortly. She has very limited vision and we are looking for a
plug-and-play solution for her, so the 253 is what first comes to mind.
Does anyone have one available? We would appreciate comments
& options to consider.
If not, has anyone successfully got such a set up (Omni VI/Hercules) to
"talk" to the LDG or MFJ high powered auto-tuner, to simply matters/reduce
the likelihood of operating error becoming rig error?
Yes, she is primarily a CW operator...so if you have one you've been holding
onto for "no good reason," let me know; and if you have one and wish to sell
for less than the top-dollar that might be had for it, that would be
appreciated. This fine lady has not asked for help but has been just
overwhelmed, overjoyed and become so excited now that a few of us have
stepped up to help, and we're all "doing what we can."
73,
Art, KØRO
