This is a very curious problem, and many of the posts we have seen here seem
to indicate that it may have something to do with the through-plating on the
double-sided circuit board. Look very carefully at both sides of the
circuit board where it's mounted using very bright light and a good
magnifying glass or jeweler's loupe.
