Press an old stereo amp into service for the headphones.

Indeed, this is a well-known issue! I have found that using higher
impedance headphones reduces the difference in levels, but it's still pretty noticeable. It's one of the unresolved issues on my Orion II "Wish List" at
www.n6ie.com.

I have a Heil Noise Canceling Headset. Whenever I plug in the headphones,
the volumne dramatically drops and requires that I really 'crank' the
volume up. Of course, when I pull out the plug, I get blasted by the
speaker. Is this a known issue or do I have an "unique issue' to be
addressed with TenTec?
Tnx
Tom
