Tim,
I have an Orion I so this may not apply to the II. If I put the
sub-receiver on AM, once I transmit on SSB, I loose the headphone audio.
One solution is to do a reset and keep the sub-receiver on SSB. Just be
sure to tune dead center if copying an AM station. I hope it is that simple
for you.

John

Subject: [TenTec] O II and headphones?
I have a Heil Noise Canceling Headset. Whenever I plug in the headphones,
the volumne dramatically drops and requires that I really 'crank' the
volume up. Of course, when I pull out the plug, I get blasted by the
speaker. Is this a known issue or do I have an "unique issue' to be
addressed with TenTec?
Tnx
Tom
