I also use pclinuxos in the shack and found the setup and initial use easy.
It's running on a early Pentium 4 with 512 meg of ram. Runs like a champ.
Now what I do have a problem with is installing programs like fldigi and
other .tar files.
Words of wisdom from anyone are welcome. I am also reading as much as
possible on the subject. I have two books in print on linux but neither get
much past the install.

There are quite a few Ubuntu books at Amazon.com John.
I have used several versions of Ubuntu and it is pretty good.
You could also try pclinuxos at pclinuxos.com - I found it to be even
easier to setup and use than Ubuntu.
