Sounds like overheating in the balun. Try feeling it to see if it is hot (caution - it may be very hot!). Caused by serious mismatch. Try changing your antenna or feedline. Your old tuner worked fine - does it still? If not - suspect the feedline or antenna connection. If it does, it may be a beefier balun.
