My two cents: I just bought a Jupiter I. My sense is that it meets the needs of most hams as is. It does not have a "brick wall" front end, etc., but it is extremely well designed. With the outboard tuning pod, and the Pegasus emulation software, it gives a lot of value with tremendous ease of use.
